Joanne L. Scholl, 79, of Fort Collins, Colorado, formerly of LaGrange, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010 at MacKenzie Place Memory Care after a long battle with Alzheimer?s. Joanne was born on May 7, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Isabel Baker Hoagland and George Baker both deceased. Joanne married John Scholl on May 8, 1954 in Chicago. They lived in Athens, GA and San Diego, CA while John was serving in the Navy during the Korean War. Joanne was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with friends and relatives, playing tennis, bridge, and traveling. She also enjoyed cooking and reading. She was a realtor with Caldwell Banker in Chicago area until 1995 when Joanne and John moved to Fort Collins. They enjoyed spending winters in St. Pete Beach, FL. She is survived by her husband, John; her three children; daughter, Eileen Scholl and husband, Dave Evans of Fort Collins; Rebecca Mann and husband, John of Fort Collins; son, Charles Scholl and wife, Barbara of Farmington Hills, Michigan; and her brother, Bill Baker and wife, Rita Corley-Baker. In addition she is survived by sister and brother-in-law?s, Gretchen Cahn of Evanston, Illinois, Millie and Paul Scholl of Ann Arbor Michigan, Gail and Bill Scholl of Delano, Minnesota, Marilyn and Dave Scholl of Deerfield, Illinois and seventeen nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at MacKenzie Place for all their loving care. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday, April 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Blessed John 23rd University Center, 1220 University Ave in Fort Collins, Colorado. A reception will be held immediately following at the same location. Memorial contributions can be made to Elderhaus in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Ft. Collins, CO 80524 or charity of your choice.
