Joanne Griffin

Joanne Marie Griffin was born December 18, 1953 in South Holland, Illinois. She passed away on Sunday, March 15 after a nearly six year long battle with breast cancer. After growing up in South Holland and living for periods in Carbondale, Illinois, and Corpus Christi, Texas, she found her home in Ft. Collins in 1980. Jo graduated from Colorado State with a degree in landscape design and was the proprietor of Garden Details. Her business name could not have been more appropriate. She appreciated ever leaf, every flower, and every petal of every flower. She leaves behind many loving friends and family members. She will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She is survived by her mother and father, Mary Jane and Keith Griffin of Bayonet Point, Florida; brother, Mike and his wife Judy of Valparaiso, Indiana;brother Matt of Hammond, Indiana; brother Glen and his wife Toni of Highland, Indiana; two nieces, their husbands and two grandnieces; and her friend of 35 years and husband of 20 years, Russ Ragsdale. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Larimer County Humane Society would be appreciated.
