Jo Ellen Isaly of Fort Collins formerly Jo Ellen Metz, died peacefully at home on 4/26/12 with her family by her side. Her parents, Alice Isaly and Joseph Raysor preceded her in death. She is survived by daughter, Lisa Metz and grandson, Finn Blay, and daughter, Kirsten "Monty" Metz and daughter-in-law, Julie Martinek. Jo Ellen has spent her life in service to others. As a graduate of Columbia University's Occupational Therapy Masters Program, she worked as an OT for decades. Having survived throat cancer, she has spent the last 18 years of her life as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. She was an active member of AA and The Northern Colorado Potters Guild. Her passions included travelling the world to such places as Bali, Palau, Tahiti, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Mongolia, Egypt, China, Costa Rica, Bonaire, and Mexico. She loved to snorkel, tend to her flowers and cherished the time spent with her beloved grandson. A Celebration of Life will take place Tuesday, May 1st at 1:00 p.m. at Foothills Unitarian Church, 1815 Yorktown, Fort Collins. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to either The Northern Colorado Potters Guild or The Franciscus Fund at Columbia University in support of their Occupational Therapy program in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, CO 80524.
