Jimmie Ann Edwards, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Fort Collins, Colorado on September 2, 2025.
Born on May 31,1928 and raised in Welch, West Virginia, Jimmie carried with her a deep love for her community and a generous spirit that touched everyone she met. She was known for her kindness and her unwavering devotion to her family.
Throughout her life, Jimmie was dedicated to caring for others—whether through her work as a 5th grade teacher or the simple acts of love she gave so freely each day. She enjoyed hiking in the Colorado mountains, golfing on a regular basis, and traveling to many countries around the world. She especially enjoyed reading, playing a mean hand of bridge, and listening to a variety of music. She found joy in sharing those passions with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Jimmie is survived by her sons, David (Sheri) McKelfresh and Bob (Leslie) McKelfresh, grandchildren, Kelsey and David J. (Kristina) McKelfresh, step-grandson, Taylor (Megan) McNeely, and great-grandchildren Lela and Nathan Kaufman; Daniella, Nico, and Enzo McKelfresh; and Asher and Lennon McNeely.
Her family and friends will remember Jimmie for her grace, her wisdom, and her unshakable love. Though she has left this world, her spirit will remain a guiding light for all who knew her. Jimmie has requested there be no formal service to mark her passing.
The family would like to thank MacKenzie Place, Just As Family LLC, and Bristol Hospice for their care and compassion.
