Listen to Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jill Ann Douglas on February 19, 2024. She was 81 years old. Jill was born on November 1, 1942 in Cook, Minnesota to Archie and Goldie (Lindsey) Mihm. She lived in the little white house on the hill surrounded by the woods of Northern Minnesota. The woods became her playground. She loved taking long walks looking for blueberries and watching for
bears which became her lifelong love. She enjoyed riding her bike, escaping to her playhouse, reading and listening to music.

She graduated in 1961 as Valedictorian of Cook High School. She married John Croner Fallos on November 2, 1962 and moved to Denver, Colorado to start a family. She had various jobs, telephone operator, bookkeeper, legal secretary, paralegal and office manager. After she and John divorced, she raised her three children, worked full time and continued her education.

She earned an Associate's Degree of Applied Science Legal Assistant in 1986 from Arapahoe Community College where she fell for one of her professors, Forrest C. Douglas, whom she later married on March 6, 1987. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English Summa Cum Laude in 1989 from Metropolitan State College. She was a lifelong learner.

She and Forrest traveled the world. She rode camels in Tunisia, snorkeled in Mexico, went on an Alaskan Cruise and spent a semester abroad living in a flat. They enjoyed flying in their Mooney airplane exploring and visiting friends. She spent summers at My Blue Heaven on Lake Okoboji entertaining many friends and relatives while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

She adored her grandchildren, she was active in her church, she loved playing Mahjong with her ladies and teaching all the kids in the family. She was an avid reader, loved music and loved dancing. She was a wealth of knowledge, never judged, only listened and shared her wisdom. She was the strongest, smartest, most beautiful mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Goldie (Lindsey) Mihm, brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Nancy Mihm, husband Forrest C. Douglas.

Survived by sister Carol Hill of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her three children, Brenda Rae Ostberg of Englewood, Colorado, Laura Ann Kovari (Joe) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Corey John Fallos (Cheryl) of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee.

She is also survived by her four grandchildren Jason Sparks (Laura), Tavah Kovari, Levi Kovari (Samantha), and Lily Ostberg, along with eight great grandchildren Sienna Kovari-Martinez, Mila Kovari- Martinez, Walker Kovari, Kennedy Kovari, Pryor Kovari, Lucy Sparks, Josie Sparks and Brady Sparks, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. May she rest in peace, forever cherished in our memories.
