Jeffrey Scott (Jeff) Tiley, age 62, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2025 at his home.
Jeff was born on September 26, 1962 in Denver, Colorado. Jeff graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1981. He was a gifted athlete and competed in golf, track and field, football, and basketball. After high school, he attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, CO and played football during his time there.
Beginning at the age of twelve, Jeff's passion for golf was fueled by his first job at Collindale Golf Course. He would wake early each day, bike to the course and spend the entire day there (dawn to dusk). Jeff would take care of everything that needed to be done, whether it was in his job description, or his work schedule and even if it was not.
At the age of 14, Jeff won the Regional Junior PGA and went on to compete in various tournaments throughout his life. One of his most notable golfing accomplishments was holding the Collindale course record with a score of 64 from 1991-2005.
While Jeff pursued many occupations ranging from painting, bartending, and working within the family Dairy Queen business, he believed his most important purpose in life began with the birth of his son Sam who was born in 2000.
Jeff experienced great joy and pride as he supported Sam through all his activities and interests throughout his life. He could always be counted on to be in the stands, on the sidelines or simply at home cheering on Sam in whatever he was doing.
Jeff's life was a complicated one. He experienced many challenges including ones revolving around his health. He endured several surgeries, cancer and dealt with difficulties they presented to him to the best of his ability.
Jeff loved to talk about and watch all sports, especially his Denver Broncos. He was an avid Bronco fan for many years. He even had a "Bronco room" in his house with all kinds of Bronco memorabilia. Jeff had his own style of fashion. He loved to wear hats. One Christmas a family photo was taken with the entire family wearing a hat that Jeff brought from his collection. Jeff loved to wear jewelry, and lots of it when he did. He had a lot of funny socks, never saw him wearing just plain black or white socks.
Jeff's presence was felt deeply by his family. Beginning with his son, Sam, his mother Claudette, his sister and brother-in-law Michelle and Pete, his younger brother Mike and his children, Jeff's niece Isabella and his nephews Carter and Riley. He is also survived by his grandmother, Felicia Darco, his favorite Aunt, Carol Darco, and by his friend and mother of his son, Leah Tiley. Jeff will be missed by many friends and additional family, but especially by his sweet and devoted dog and companion, Jack.
He was preceded in death by his father, K. Bill Tiley. His father played a defining role in Jeff's life. Even after K. Bill's death, Jeff shared that he spoke to him on a daily basis. Those who loved Jeff will continue to speak to him.
REST IN PEACE JEFF! Who was also fondly known as: Odis T-bone, Odie, Big Pard, Bubba, Johnny Cat, Undercover Charlie, and Jeffco.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline Rd., Fort Collins CO 80525.
