Listen to Obituary
Schmidt, Jeffrey Theodore, age 54, died peacefully at his home on the evening of February 24th after a hard battle with stage three esophageal cancer. He was born on August 5th, 1966 to Cordelia Kreager and Henry Theodore Schmidt and raised here in Fort Collins, CO. Jeff was well known in the Fort Collins area graduating from Rocky Mountain High School in 1985 and working at several Fort Collins businesses: Teledyne (Waterpik), ESAB Automation, CBW Automation, Superior Contracting LLC, and Giddings machine shop. Jeff loved to work and stay busy; duck hunting, water skiing, camping, building new engines, yard work, and drinking a beer or cocktail in the evening were a few of his pastimes. He was most known for his 4th of July celebrations with friends and family, maybe even sometimes getting himself into a bit of trouble.

His family and friends knew him as a "wild" man and would say, "he lived his life to the fullest." His favorite vacation place was Mexico. He sure knew how to enjoy his time there with a cigarette in one hand and tequila in the other. Jeff was an opinionated person with a lot to say on subjects he felt strongly about. He, along with opinions, weren't going to change for anyone or anything (stubborn you could say). Jeff left a mark on everyone he met in some way, shape, or form. Whether it was his quick-witted sarcasm, or a dead leg punch out of no-where, he knew how to light up the room with a good time or a wild story to laugh about for years.

Jeff is survived by his girlfriend Jennifer Crawford, his two siblings Jennifer Weir and Randy Kreager-Schmidt, and his two children Trever Schmidt and Danielle Schmidt and one granddaughter Kinsley Schmidt.
