Our dearly loved son, Jeffrey Nelson, passed away at his Fort Collins home on August 4th. We, his parents, Deborah and Gary Nelson, and sister Laura welcomed him into the world on June 11, 1983. Growing up in Boulder, Jeffrey graduated from Boulder High School with honors in 2001 and again with honors from Colorado State University in 2008.
At the time of his passing, Jeffrey was employed by United Way of Larimer County, where he provided service to the less fortunate with empathy, passion, and patience.
Jeffrey's family and countless friends will cherish memories of the self-professed "sports nut" who approached life with openness, good humor, a devilishly quick wit, and boundless generosity. The pain of his early departure can only be matched by the joy he has left in our lives. We will love and carry you in our hearts forever, Jeffrey.
A memorial celebration for Jeffrey will be held Sunday, August 16th at 10:30 AM at City Park in Fort Collins (1499 City Park Drive, east of the intersection of City Park Drive and Sheldon.)
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to United Way of Larimer County, in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524.
