Marilyn Jeanne Lowery, 86, of Fort Collins died peacefully in her home on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Reception on June 15, 2024 from 10 a.m. to noon at The Winslow, 909 Centre Avenue in Fort Collins.
Jeanne, as she was known to her friends, was born in Red Oak, Iowa on January 22, 1938. As a young girl, she lived with her family in Omaha and Denver before moving to Fort Collins after her father returned from service in WWII. She graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1956. Jeanne married Fred Lowery on July 6, 1956 and they were happily married for 61 years.
Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked in the Plant Sciences Department at Colorado State University for many years. She was an accomplished artist, an avid tennis player and enjoyed hiking in the mountains with her grandkids. Jeanne and Fred enjoyed a retirement filled with travel and collecting antiques. Over the past few years, she has enjoyed her many friendships at The Winslow in Fort Collins.
Jeanne is survived by her sons Kirk and Jack; their wives Tammy and Laura; grandchildren Mauri, Paige, Mitchell, Kacie Patterson and her husband Chad, and Lexy Perou and her husband Jeremiah; and great grandchildren Everett, Clayton, Hudson and Peyton.
