Gone but Not Forgotten
Jeanise Joyce Brown, daughter of Johnny Manual Collins and Olivia Brazier Collins; wife of Louis Brown Jr.; mother of George Leon Brown, Howard Michael Brown Melanie, Regina Jeanise Brown Tricia Heller, Lisa Joyce Brown Wenske Chris; grandmother of Brennan Michael Brown, Cameron Louis Brown, Alexandria Nikole Mason, and Dustin George Brown as well as a loyal friend to oh so many others, passed away on August 18, 2009 in her home. Jeanise was born in Scotlandville, Louisiana, East Baton Rouge Parish on July 2, 1931 and attended Southern University until her marriage to Louis on December 30, 1948 while he was home on leave from the newly designated Air Force. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend with a zest for life and an incredible will to live. She had a beautiful voice that was her solace and touched so many people's lives. She loved people and always had an open door, a smile, and a hello, with a warm and hearty laugh, a beverage, and some creation ready to feast upon. She could plan a party on the spot just to be able to socialize, laugh, and share joy or sorrow. Her life was a reflection of her warm and loving upbringing, the unique and diverse experiences she and Louis encountered and followed through 54 years of marriage, and the peace, harmony, family, and friendships that they built in Fort Collins/Loveland, Colorado for almost 40 years. Jeanise Collins Brown is loved by family and a multitude of friends, and while she has now passed from earth and gone to heaven to be with her husband, son, and other family members and friends who have gone before her, she will never be forgotten. Services will include a celebration of her life at American Baptist Church, 600 S. Shields St., Fort Collins, Colorado 80521 on August 30 2009, with a viewing from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm and the service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place on August 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A". In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Poudre Valley Hospital Cancer Center Campaign, PVH Foundation or Food Bank for Larimer County in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
