Jeanette Valentine, 80, of Wellington, passed away Jan. 18, 2008, at Lemay Ave. Health and Rehab Center. Jeanette was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Glenn Smythe and Charlotte Secoy Smythe. She married Earl Valentine June 5, 1948, in Melmore, Ohio. In 1968, the Valentines moved to the Wellington area where they resided for 32 years. Jeanette was a member of the American Baptist Church of Fort Collins where she enjoyed participating in a prayer circle. She loved reading and listening to music. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include sons, Matt Valentine and wife Karen of Fort Collins, Eric Valentine of Fort Collins, Seth Valentine and wife Sue of Spokane, Wash.; daughters, Christine Wyatt and husband Steve of Loveland, Sarah Tracy and husband Mick of Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandson, Lindsay Wyatt of Longmont; granddaughter, Amy Wyatt of Loveland; granddaughter, Alicen of Seattle, Wash.; grandson, Wesley of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers, Franklin Smythe of Columbus, Ohio; and Kenneth Smythe of Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Preceding Jeanette in death are her parents, her brother, Paul Smythe; and her husband, Earl Valentine. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at American Baptist Church, 600 S. Shields. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St. Ft. Collins, 80524.
