Jeanene Miller Dunlap Cruse died at her home in Fort Collins on July 6, 2006, after a long battle with cancer. A lifetime resident of Colorado, Jeanene was born and raised in Durango, moving to Fort Collins in 1975. Jeanene is survived by her daughters, Ann Dwelle and Mary Eberspacher; her son, James Dunlap; former husband, Jim Cruse; and grandchildren, Valerie, Anthony, Evan and Miles. Jeanene's many interests included playing musical instruments, especially in the New Horizons Band, teaching and enjoyment of the family cabin at Electra Lake. Her many years of selling Avon reflected her commitment to customer service, belief in the empowerment of women and friendship. Jeanene embodied all the best qualities of the "Great Generation." Jeanene preferred no formal services, asking that those who wish to remember her donate to a charitable cause of their choice.
