Jean Altergott Dotts

Jean passed away on September 4, 2017 at 93 years old in Hospice care at Seven Lakes Memory Care of Loveland. Jean was born in Sedgwick, Colorado in 1924 to Hans and Francis von Kaenel. She moved to Fort Collins as a teenager to live with her grandparents so she could attend and graduate from Fort Collins High School. She met and married Herman Altergott in 1942 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They were married for 28 years before Herman passed away in 1970. She later met and married Virgil Dotts in 1975. Virgil passed away in 2004.
Jean had an outstanding career working as a payroll supervisor for Forney Industries in Fort Collins for 42 years. She was a huge Denver Nugget and Bronco fan. She is survived by her sister Joyce Jeffers of Fort Collins, son Jim Altergott and wife Sharon of Fort Collins, daughter Vicki Palmer and husband Jim of Wheatland, Wyoming. Grandchildren include Melissa Altergott of Denver, Jamie Altergott of Waikoloa, Hawaii, Sheila Johnston of Fort Collins, Stacy Betz of Greeley, and Randy Palmer of Blackhawk, Colorado, and six great grandchildren.
