Jean M. Bidwell, daughter of Leo and Opal Farrington of Iowa City, Iowa, died Saturday, Aug. 9, in Poudre Valley Hospital after a long illness. She was 83. Jean took pride in her family and homemaking skills. She was an excellent craftswoman, a Girl Scout leader, a fifty year member of Eastern Star, and a member of the White Shrine. She volunteered at Poudre Valley Hospital for ten years. She will be remembered for her humor and wisdom. Jean is survived by her husband, Bill Bidwell of Fort Collins; her three children, Jolynn Lauer of Santa Rosa, Calif., Susan Spight of Hamden, Conn., and William Keith Bidwell of Aurora; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding Jean in death are her parents; and her brother, Donald Farrington. A memorial service will be held, at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harbor of Hope, FMC, 608 E. Drake. Pastor Paul McGraw will officiate at the service. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
