Jason Charles Rossi, our super hero, died at his nursing home on Wed. Feb.1 at age 36. He is now free. Jason was born Jan. 5, 1976 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At ages 4-10 he lived in the mountains in Woodland Park, Colorado, where he loved to ride his bike, explore the forest, and play with his siblings and friends. Jason was in gifted & talented classes in 4th grade, and good in science, reading and spelling. It was then that he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, very rare in children, having many frightening symptoms. The family moved to Fort Collins when he was 10, where he continued in school and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1994. His disease also progressed and he lost so many functions--piece by piece--also losing friends and unable to drive, denied so much in life. But he was an amazing trooper. Jason loved the Lord and was baptized as a teenager. He loved joking around and had a wonderful sense of humor, even when he could no longer talk. He touched the lives of many people, and taught his family so much. Jason is survived by his mother Diane Rossi; his brother and his wife, Jon and Carolyn Davis; his sisters, Jessica and Jenell Rossi; 4 nieces and several cousins, aunts, uncles and a grandmother. He is preceded in death by his dad, Charles Rossi, just 15 mo. before. A huge thank you to Lemay Ave Health and Rehab and staff, for their excellent care and facility. Also, to Foothills Gateway and their awesome staff and programs. To Pathways Hospice, for their amazing and tender care, and Bethesda Lutheran Community for providing outings, and everyone else who helped Jason in his difficult and lonely life. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Community Church at the Whedbee building, 201 Whedbee St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jason C. Rossi Memorial Fund in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Co. 80524. Friends may send condolences to the family at bohlenderfuneralchapel.com
