On Friday, October 28, Janice Leah Kovach, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family and close friends. Heaven has a new angel as she leaves behind countless lives that have been profoundly impacted for the better for having known her.
Janice was sixty years old. Born to David and Glonda Garrett on January 20, 1962, she was the second oldest of five children. In 1980, Janice graduated from Simi Valley High School, California and then continued her education by earning an Associates Degree in Arts & Science in 1983 from Moorpark College, California. On June 25th, 1982, Janice married Jon Kovach for time and all eternity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Los Angeles, CA. They were married for forty years before her passing. Janice & Jon moved to Fort Collins and have lived in Colorado for 30 years.
Janice was loved by many. She was active in her local church where she gave numerous hours of charitable services and time to serving women and youth through ecclesiastical education and activity. In addition to her selfless service, Janice loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Always excited for a fun gathering, Janice enjoyed planning family events, visiting the beach, and going on adventures with her family. She is survived by her husband, Jon Sr., and her four children, Holly, Jon Jr., Garrett, and Kadie.
For those who knew Janice, she lived a life full of love, happiness, light, and laughter. Her husband, Jon, quoted after her passing, "I will miss her every second of every day as she is my very best friend. In spite of that, I am so grateful she no longer has to struggle with the physical challenges of this life. Janice's legacy is one of love, compassion, service, courage, faith, grit and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends. We are all grieving, but are comforted by the thought that one day, our family will be together again and carry on with our adventures and no doubt, there will be plenty of laughter."
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 5th, @ 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on Harmony Road in Fort Collins (1320 W Harmony Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526). A graveside service at Grandview Cemetery will follow directly thereafter.
