Janice Aragon

Janice Elaine Aragon, 62, of Fort Collins, passed away July 21, 2005, at her home in Fort Collins after 5- years of fighting lung cancer. She had been under the loving care of her husband. Janice Elaine White was born Oct. 7, 1942, in Fort Morgan to Neil and Zora White. Zora was re-married in 1977 to Guy Larsen, who came to be Jan's stepfather. Jane grew up in Chula Vista, Calif., and then graduated from Chula Vista High School in 1960. She was joined in marriage to Edward Aragon on Oct. 15, 1960, in Fort Collins. Jan and Ed made Fort Collins their home ever since. Jan was employed by Dreiling Motors, Miller Motor Mart and Poudre Valley Hospital for many years as a bookkeeper. Jan was instrumental in assisting PVH with their original computer system. She then joined her husband in the automotive field, which led them to open Western Engine & Transmission Exchange in 1991. She retired in 2003, due to illness. In her free time, Jan enjoyed doing needlepoint, cross-stitch, and many other crafts. She also loved to play softball and bowl. Jan bowled for 30 years, served as the League Secretary for 20 years, as well as Director, Secretary and President in the FCWBA and the 600 club. Jan loved the trips that she and Ed took to Mexico and Las Vegas. They got to enjoy several trips with special family and friends. Jan especially looked forward to the loving daily calls by her dear sister-in-law, Sherry White. She was preceded in death by one son, Scott Michael Aragon; her mother, Zora Larsen; and her father, Neil White. She is survived by her husband, Ed Aragon, after 44 years of marriage; two daughters, Sandra Aragon, of Fort Collins, and Wendy Jenkins and husband, Brian, of Walden; one sister, Diane Potter, and husband, Ward, of Fort Collins; one twin brother, Jerry White, and wife, Sherry, of Fort Morgan; and a brother, Tom White, and wife, Ruth, of Denver. Jan is also survived by six grandchildren, Rudy, Matt, Danielle and Miranda, all of Fort Collins, and Mark and Nick, of Walden. A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Hospice Chaplain Mike Lundgren will officiate. Interment at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W.
