Janet DeGabain Shea passed away on May 3, 2024.

Janet was born February 5, 1929 north of Wellington, Colorado to Maurice and Freda (Nace) DeGabain. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1947. She married Paul Shea and moved to Cut Bank, Montana for seven years. She then moved to Ft. Morgan, Colorado and lived there for 48 years. She was divorced from Paul Shea in 1985.

While living in Montana she worked as Assistant City Clerk for the City of Cut Bank and also served a term as City Treasurer.

She was Secretary Treasurer of Clark Feather Mfg. Co. and later sold to Parker Hannifin Corp. in 1980. She was the first woman Operations Manager Parker Hannifin had ever had. She retired in 1984. She served on the Hospital Board, Museum Board and the College Board while in Ft. Morgan. She also served on the Financial Trust Board for the Farmers State Bank for 35 years, until they sold to Wells Fargo.

Irvin Troudt became her friend and they travelled extensively. She lived in Peoria, Arizona for 14 years in the winter. She moved from Ft. Morgan in 1992 to Ft. Collins, and later moved to Loveland in 1998.

Janet was a member of the Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, knitting, counted cross-stitch, hand pieced quilting, travel, bridge and family.

Janet is survived by her daughter Diana (Wade) Warberg of Severance, Colorado. Four grandchildren, Chad (Deena) Boos of Apex, North Carolina; Angela (John) Myers of Hamilton, Virginia; Kaylie Warberg of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Wyatt Warberg of Ft. Collins, Colorado. She has three great grandchildren; Morgan (Brandon) Leffel, Jayson (Lexi) Boos, and Jalen Myers; and four great great grandchildren; Olivia, Wesley, Hazel and Claire. Her sister, Dorothy Groth of Ft. Morgan, Colorado; and son-in law, James Johnson of Montclair, Virginia.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, daughter Judith Johnson, and sister Marian Stanczyk.

Funeral services will be held at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland on Monday, May 13 at 10:30 am.

Cremation was held and a private burial ceremony for the family will be at the Grandview Cemetery in Ft. Collins on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:00 am.
