Janelda Bailey

Janelda Ann Bailey, 65, of Loveland passed on to Eternity on March 27, 2006, after suffering from multiple illnesses for several years. She returned home to leave this earth in the presence and care of her loved ones. She was born Feb. 19, 1941, to James Thomas Hazzard and Elizabeth Frances Gartin in King City, Miss. She was the youngest of four children. Her only brother, one sister, and both parents preceded her in death. Janelda married Elden Franklin Bailey Feb. 14, 1959, in Scottsbluff, Neb. Together they had six children. They moved from the panhandle of Nebraska to Fort Collins in 1972. She lived in Fort Collins and the surrounding area since that time. Jan, as she was called by her friends and colleagues, had many interests. Education was important to her, and she acquired knowledge wherever and however she could about many things. Prior to moving to Colorado, she went to nursing school to become a Nurses aide. After moving to Colorado, she worked as a CNA at several of the local health care centers. She received her high school diploma in 1977 after attending night classes then continued her education later in life by attending Horticulture & Seed Analysis classes at Larimer County Vo-Tech. She was a lifetime student at The School of Hard Knocks and recently graduated with honors. Gardening, reading and music were some of her favorite pastimes. Sharing her knowledge and practical application of it was her way of making a difference in people's lives. Raising her children and caring for her grandchildren and those whom she loved were her greatest accomplishments. She will be greatly missed by many and is survived by five daughters, Sylvia "JoBob" Carnazzo and husband John of Loveland, Vivian Bailey of Leander, Texas, Correna Bailey of Fort Collins, Evelyn Bailey of Hockley, Texas and Tonya Scriven of Wellington; one son, Lude J.R. Bailey of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Arlette Williams and husband Clarence and special family members, Robert Scriven, Kevin Hill and Don Hamilton. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and six step-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rainbow Plaza Reception Hall, 4229 W. Eisenhower, Loveland. Family and friends are invited to stay for a luncheon immediately following the service.
