Jane Ellen Warner-Seik

Jane E Warner-Seik, 75, passed away at her home in Fort Collins, CO on Friday, March 22, 2013. Memorial Service will be held in Fort Collins at the Foothills Unitarian Church on Wednesday, March27, 2013 at 2:00pm. Refreshments will be served afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for the Fort Collins Cat Rescue in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel at 121 W. Olive Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524. Jane was born October 31, 1937 to J. Harold Oyer, MD and Doris E. Bauer in Fort Wayne, IN. She graduated from South Side High School in the class of 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Keith L. Warner on June 22, 1957 and together, they had four children. Jane attended Kent State University and achieved her Master's in Library Science after her children were all in school. She proceeded to work 22yrs as the head Librarian at Hawken School in Gates Mills, OH. Jane met her second husband, Larry Seik, at Hawken School and they were married May 18, 1985 in Gates Mills, OH. They moved to Fort Collins, CO in the summer of 2000 with the hope to travel in their RV to see the country and visit family. Jane enjoyed genealogy, playing bridge, RVing and caring for animals. She was a dedicated volunteer for 7yrs at the Fort Collins Cat Rescue; spent 2yrs on the council of the Fort Collins Senior Center, 6yrs on the Home Owners Association for Harmony Cove 3 of those years as President; and recently was membered on the Friday's Council Tree chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution DAR. Jane is survived by her husband, Larry Seik, in Fort Collins, CO; her four children – Jeff Barbara Warner of Hudson, OH, Diane Dan Jesser of Fort Collins, CO, Steve Warner of Carrollton, TX and Karen John Coyner of Richmond, VA.; her two step-children – Matt Stacy Seik and Abby Joe Neusbaum; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She also leaves her only sister, Carole Jay of Ellensburg, WA. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. J. Harold Oyer.
