Jan Ederveen our beloved husband, father, Opa, and Great Opa 82, of Fort Collins passed away peacefully with his family at his side April 1, 2016.
Born in Ressen, The Netherlands on January 27, 1934 to Hendrik Peter Ederveen and Pietertje Ederveen (Emmerzaal), the middle child of 3. His father died in a motorcycle accident when Jan was 4 leaving his mother to raise 3 young children by herself during WW11 with the German occupation in The Netherlands.
He attended the Protestant Elementary School in Bemmel, later transferring to public school in nearby Nijmegan and graduating high school there. He attended mechanical engineering college graduating in Haarlem, The Netherlands in 1956.
Jan immigrated to the United States in 1959 after accepting a three year contract with the Ministry of Economic Affairs at the Dutch Embassy Washington D.C. There he met Rita W.L. Gorter. They married April 7, 1962. They immediately moved to Rockford, Illinois where he began a 37 year career with Woodward Governor, retiring in 1999 when Rita passed away.
In June 1968, some 90 Woodward families were transferred to Fort Collins including Jan, Rita, and their children Yolanda and Robert when Woodward moved one of their divisions here.
Their youngest Natasja was born at Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital.
Jan spent most of his career in commercial functions traveling for Woodward to Australia, Singapore, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and China.
On June 23, 2003 Jan married Isabel Oberg. They spent thirteen wonderful years together, traveling and spending time with their grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife Liz Oberg of Loveland; his three children Yolanda Ederveen Brown of Fort Collins, Robert Ederveen of Parker, Natasja Budzitowski of Greeley; grandchildren Emily, Jacob, Kayla, Britany, Christian, Cameron, Allisyn, and Makenna, and his very special great-granddaughter Reagan.

A Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016, 10 a.m. at Drake Road Christian Church, 608 E. Drake.
