James (Jim) William Flowers of Wellington CO passed away Wednesday November 11, 2015, at the age of 58.
Jim was born February 13, 1957 in St. Peter, MN to Kenneth & Loretta Flowers. Jim graduated from Cleveland High School in 1975. Jim spent his childhood growing up on the family farm. Jim married his wife Mary in 1977 and moved to Colorado in 1982. Jim worked on dairy farms until he started his career at Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in 1986, where he later retired at the age of 55 in 2012. Jim had several hobbies such as fishing, camping, tinkering with things, moon shine making, sitting on the porch with family and friends, and farming, but the most treasured to him was his John Deere Tractors of all years and sizes. You would see him at tractor shows, tractor pulls, anything tractor….he was there. Jim was involved in the boy scouts for several years with his son & daughter (Yes she was a boy scout as well). Jim volunteered his time for the town he loved and made his home in, by sitting on many boards and helping make it a better place to raise a family. Jim was an amazing man, the size of his heart was immeasurable. Jim had many many friends and would do anything for anyone who needed help. He was always just a phone call away.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 38 years of marriage; two children, son, Scott (Shauna) and daughter. Pam (Jeff); three grandchildren; Brittanie, Emma and Braxton; and two step-grandchildren, Tyson and Taya. Along with his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
A Memorial Service for Jim will be held at Wellington Community Church, 8445 3rd Street, Wellington, CO on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11 am.
