James W. Wiebelhaus
January 13, 1932 – January 5, 2020
Jim Wiebelhaus went fishing with the Lord on January 5, 2020 surrounded by his family. Born in the big city of Fordyce, Nebraska he often said that people who come from that area are the finest in the world. The family moved to Battle Creek, NE where he graduated from Battle Creek High School and went on to attend and graduate from Norfolk Junior College. Jim served in the Army branch of the Military and spent 18 months serving in the Korean War.
Jim married Melva Jean Hansen from Norfolk, NE, moved to Fort Collins, CO and had four children, Jane, Diane, Andy (proceeded in death) and Tim. Jim spent 35 years as a lineman with the Poudre Valley REA. Jim went on to marry Pat Moen where they lived north of Fort Collins. Jim was an ardent baseball and football fan, loved to dance and drink Budweiser. His love of the outdoors was evident while spending time camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren. Jim spent many a season hunting elk with his sons and grandsons and in his later
years enjoyed watching his grandsons race motorcycles.
Jim leaves behind his wife, three children and their spouses, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 Saint John XXIII Catholic Church.
Dad - We hope you have your fishing pole and your dancing shoes on in heaven.
