Listen to Obituary
James Mull was raised in a small town in rural Appalachia, Northern Pennsylvania and from his father, he learned to hunt, fish, farm and trap foxes and other small animals for their hides. Gardening, hunting, fishing and all things outdoors were a lifelong passion,
He was the second of 5 children being about 5 years younger than the oldest sister and 5 years older than the next sister. He was a better than average student and spent a lot of time being mischievous in school although nothing that wasn't handled by the principal or the parents. He wanted to go into the military during Vietnam but was refused because he was blind in one eye. So, he left home to go to Rochester, NY and work for Kodak with a career of over 25 years. When Kodak opened the facility in Colorado, he was one of 8 people who went to get things going there. He made Colorado his home with Lauda Fallis, his life partner for 36 of those years. He took some time off from Kodak, because in spite of his disability, he was finally drafted into the Army. He spent his 4 years in the Army in Germany where he drove Generals around to their various posts and learned to drink beer with the best of them.
In retirement he learned the plumbing trade and was always willing to help out friends & neighbors with problems. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, touring the mountains, going to Kansas with Lauda for the wheat harvest and occasional trips to Blackhawk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sexton Mull and Elsie Tubbs Mull of Osceola, Pennsylvania, one infant brother and one younger sister, JoAnne Mull Fisher. He is survived by wife Lauda Fallis of Laporte CO, sisters Jane Baker of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Judith Mull Allen of Boise, Idaho and also a nephew Christopher Fisher and niece Sally Boynton Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
