James H. Menke Jr., 56, of Severance, died July 20, 2006, at Poudre Valley Hospital. Mr. Menke Jr. was born Dec. 19, 1949, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to James H. Sr. and Shirley Menke. He graduated with a bachelorGÇÖs degree in business administration from Regis College in Denver and also served in the Navy for four years and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. James married Beverly Sibal on May 1, 1971, in Longmont. He retired from Kodak and was also a SamGÇÖs Club supervisor. James was active in the Severance Community Church and was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed coin collecting, gardening, photography, camping, fishing, Rockies baseball and spending time with his grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Menke of Severance; a son, Jeremy Menke of Fort Collins, two daughters, Jennifer Cobb and husband Jeffrey, and Becky Menke all of Fort Collins; his mother, Shirley Menke of Kingman, Ariz.; a sister, Beverly Goings and husband, Jimmy of Chesnee, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Kalikiano, Kaia and Kaemon Cobb. Sadie, Xai Menke, and Reily Miller all of Fort Collins. Mr. Menke Jr. is preceded in death by his father, James H. Menke Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment with military honors by the Fort Collins All Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Windsor. Rex Ohitman will be officiating at the services. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
