James "David" Elliott, 95, of Timnath, died October 22, 2013 at the Fort Collins Health Care Center, where he resided the past two and half years. We thank them for the good care they gave him and a special thank you to David Vail, a resident and true friend. Dave was born August 31, 1918 on a farm, one and a half miles south of Timnath to Abram and Susan Elliott. He was raised in Timnath and graduated from Timnath High School in 1937. Dave worked for Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, California. During this time, Dave sent for his bride to be, Geraldine Bates of Windsor. They were married April 12, 1941 in Yuma Arizona. During World War II, he was in the Navy Reserves working at Pan American. They lived in California for five years, and then moved to Timnath, where Dave became a commercial beekeeper like his father and brother. He continued the business until he retired. He was a lifetime member of the Timnath Presbyterian Church and an elder. Dave was a good story teller, antique collector, wood carver and goose hunter. Dave is survived by a son, James Rolland Elliott and his wife, Connie of Fort Collins; a daughter, Jayne Sears and her husband, Mark of Fort Collins; four grandchildren, James Elliott of Denver, Gary Elliott and his wife Wendi of Wellington, Alison Wright and her husband, Augustine of Stockton, California and Oliver Sears and his wife, Diane of Walden; five great-grandchildren, Travis, Savanah, Holly and Lacee Elliott and Anton Wright. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; an infant son, James Gary Elliott; his parents; his sisters, Elizabeth Russell, Naomi Elliott, Esther Altstadt and a brother, Abram Elliott. A Graveside Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor. A Memorial Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Timnath Presbyterian Church, 4020 Main Street, Timnath. Pastor Matthew J. Webber will officiate the service. Those who desire may view Mr. Elliott on Thursday from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
