James David Edgerley, loving husband, father, grandfather and resident of Fort Collins for the past 16 years, died September 4, 2009 at the age of 81. Jim was born in Toronto, Canada, and lived in Colorado for the past 30 years. He is survived by his wife Ruth; siblings Gwyn and Bill; children Andrew, David, Ron Colleen, Aimee, Jennifer Linda, Michael Michelle, and Laura Greg; as well as grandsons, Michael, Brendan, Carter, Logan, and Dylan. Jim was a graduate of University of Toronto, and held an MBA from the University of California Berkeley. After retiring as the President of Trapper Mining Inc. in Craig, Colo., Jim still enjoyed spending time as a mining consultant which allowed him to travel the world. He served as chairman of the Colorado Mining Association and was a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute and the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry. Jim also volunteered for the Fort Collins Senior Center. His favorite pastimes included golfing, fly-fishing, skiing, and watching hockey. A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life in Jim's honor will follow at Mulligan's Pub located at 2439 South College Ave. at 5:00 pm. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Fort Collins Cancer Specialists and the Poudre Valley Hospital Oncology Department.
