James W Butler, 77, passed away July 3, 2018. Jim, a lifelong resident of Ft Collins is survived by spouse Ruthanne Morris; sister, Kathy; and sons, James P Butler (Lisa)and Daniel A Butler. He was preceded in death by wife, Claire A Butler; mother, Marion Boyle, and father, William Butler.
Jim was a Navy Vietnam Veteran serving from 1963 to 1969 aboard the USS Salisbury Sound, USS Robison, and USS Lofberg. He later worked for Kodak as a machine mechanic, retiring in 1997.
Jim had many interests in life, but his passion was classic cars. These interests, along with his personality, allowed him to form many friendships... some of them lifelong. Jim and Tom Mondragon were partners in firewood and classic cars...and best friends for 45 years.
Jim will be missed by his many friends at OBC and First Thursday, as well as countless other friends.
He will be remembered as a man willing and able to help anyone.
