Jacqueline Kay Ruff, 87, of Fort Collins, passed away on May 23, 2025, in Rohnert Park, CA, where she had moved to be with her daughter's family. Jackie was born in Fort Collins on November 27, 1937, to Harry Deines and Esther Wiedeman. She grew up on a farm in Timnath and graduated from Timnath High School in 1955. Jackie married Olin Wayne Ruff on March 15, 1959, at First United Presbyterian Church of Timnath. After moving throughout the west for Olin's job with Holly Sugar, they eventually settled back in Fort Collins where Jackie worked for many years as a secretary in the Math and Science Department at Fort Collins High School.
Jackie loved cooking, gardening, crafts and visiting with family and friends. She also enjoyed home decoration, combining family antiques with modern decor. She and Olin spent many years square dancing in the early years of their marriage.
She is survived by her daughter Crystal (Brian) Smith of Rohnert Park; grandchildren Evan and Melia Smith; brother Duane (Virginia) Deines; and nephews Mike and Rod Deines.
