Jack was born March 4, 1914, in Bingham, Ill., to Emery and Ella Revis. At 7 months of age, they moved to Wetaskwin, Alberta, Canada, where they farmed for 22 years. In 1936, they returned to the U.S. and settled in the Boulder area. He served in the cavalry during World War II in the South Pacific in New Guinea and the Philippines. After the war, he married his wife of nearly 62 years, Iola Marie Fankhouser. They moved to Poudre Canyon, where they resided until his death, March 20, 2008. During this time he was a saw miller, a uranium miner, a building contractor, trailer park operator and an awesome husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Iola; five sisters; and one brother; Berthanna Taylor 96, Rosella Fidler 92, Blanche Taylor 90, Florence Barhite 88, Edna Probst 85, and Hawley Revis 80; daughters, DiAyn Revis, Cathy Revis and Jackie Matzner Ralph; grand-daughters, Codyann Anderle Phillip, Marti Elliott, Erin Vannorsdel, Krista Vannorsdel, Tracey Matzner and Kelly Matzner; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Joseph, Emylee, Kaylee, Bailey, Lexi and Colton. A memorial and celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Poudre Canyon Chapel. Jack spent many hours over the past few years listening to and enjoying talking books.
