Jack C. Nielsen of Fort Collins died on April 15, 2012 at a local nursing home. Mr. Nielsen was born February 10, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri to Edward and Anna "Matousek" Nielson. Jack married Barbara Campbell on December 29, 1946. She passed away October 23, 2004. Mr. Nielsen attended and graduated from Kansas State University. Following graduation he served with the U.S. Secret Service. During that tour of service he guarded Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon and Johnson. After retirement from the secret service he practiced law for 12 years in California followed by his retirement and move to Colorado. Jack was a long time member of Poudre Golden Kiwanis and served as president of the club. Survivors include several nieces and a nephew. A Funeral Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 531 South College Ave, on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow at the church. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Those who desire may view Mr. Nielsen from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
