Ike Proctor

Ike Proctor, age 83, of Wellington, Colorado died Friday, November 2, 2012, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Funeral services will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Thursday, 10:30 a.m. A Private Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery, Wellington. Ike was born in Erie, Kansas on December 2, 1928 to Bessie and Harry Proctor. He moved to Colorado to work for the State Highway Dept. in 1943 and retired on disability in 1967. Ike met Violette Gabel at the skating rink in Sterling, Colorado the summer of 1953; they were married in Sterling on New Year's Day 1954. Ike's job with the State landed him in Wellington, Colorado in 1956 where he and his wife Vi have made their home for over 55 years. He was a member of the Wellington volunteer fire department for more than 25 years. Ike is preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister Sue Harston of Texas. He is survived by his two sons, Dan of Johnstown, Colorado and David of Sarasota, Florida. He has two grandchildren, David and Lisa of New York, and one great-grandson Joseph.
