Howard Lindholm

Howard B. Lindholm, 83 of Fort Collins passed away Dec. 7. He was born April 25, 1925 in Wichita, Kan. He grew up on a farm near Cheney, Kan., attended high school in Cheney, and went on to graduate from Kansas State University with a degree in Agriculture and Animal Science in 1949. He met Lorine Fieser at KSU and they were married June 6 of 1948. Howard and Lorine were blessed with 60 years together and celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with family in June. After they were married, he taught Veterans Farm Training in the Cheney area for five years. He moved to Fort Collins in 1954 to pursue a Masters degree in Animal Genetics at CSU, graduating in 1957. Howard worked with a U.S. Aid project through CSU to help establish an agricultural college in Pakistan from 1959-1963. After returning from Pakistan and working a short time at Woodward Governor he farmed North West of Fort Collins raising hogs and chickens. He operated the Big Willow Poultry Farm from 1969-80. He was active as a 4-H leader with his four children for 15 yrs. and was also very active with the Larirner County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, Lorine; daughter, Charlotte of Oregon; son, Wayne and wife, Linda of California; son, Dale and wife, Connie of Fort Collins; and daughter, Marcia and husband, Russ Rhoads also of Fort Collins; and eight grandchildren. Howard is also survived by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15th at First Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect where they have been long time members, Godly examples and faithful servants. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery following the service.
