Listen to Obituary
Howard J. Lebsock, 58, of Fort Collins passed away on January 1, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Brush, Colorado on August 23, 1951 to Clarence and Mary Fulton Lebsock.
He was raised in the Fort Morgan area and graduated from Fort Morgan High School. He attended Colorado State University to study business, and then began his lifetime work in the electrical trade with Hamlin Electric Company in Fort Morgan. On April 27, 1974 he married Lynell Naill. They made their home in Fort Collins where Howard worked as an electrician and they raised three sons.
Howard loved sports his entire life. His skills as a player helped him teach his sons, and many others, pure enjoyment in the game of baseball. Howard helped coach several high-level competitive youth teams and many young men have benefited from his fair, consistent, encouraging approach to the game and determination to make it fun.
Howard took great pleasure in gathering family and friends to celebrate the simple and the grand things of life together. He was a tease, whose laughter was contagious and whose friendship was pure.
He is survived by wife, Lynell of Fort Collins; sons, Jeff and Brandon of Fort Collins and Garrett and wife, Kelly, of Sacramento, California; brothers, Victor of Raleigh, North Carolina, Glen of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Lester of Casper, Wyoming, Barry of Ft. Morgan, Colorado; and sister, Cheryl of Overland Park, Kansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara; and brother, John.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 900 E. Prospect. Pastor Dale Williams will officiate at the service.
