Howard Eugene Kechter

Howard Eugene Kechter Papa Chief, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, died September 17, 2011. Howard was born December 7, 1931 in Fort Collins to Conrad and Mollie Heckman Kechter. He graduated from Timnath High School in 1949. Howard was in basic training in the Marines in Quantico, Virginia, before being called home when his father had a heart attack. He worked for Ranch Way Feeds for over 20 years. He also, worked for Larimer County for over 15 years. He is survived by his children, Greg Nedra, Dale Donna, Robert Georgia and Darlene Ted Cross; grandchildren, Micki Bryce Giardino, Molly, Matthew, Dan Julia, Nedra Ken, Sarah, Melissa Kechter, Charlotte, Ginger, Leslie and Ted Laurissa Cross; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Xander, Cody and Lillian; brother, Leonard June Kechter; sister, Eleanora Jordan; and his former wife, Barbara Kechter. Howard is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ed Jordan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80524. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.
