Hope Lorraine DeHaes, 89, of Fort Collins, died March 11, 2008, at McKee Medical Center, Hospice of Larimer County Unit in Loveland. Mrs. DeHaes was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Norden, Neb., to Holly Carl Carlson and Frances Adelia Cannon Carlson. Lorraine married John DeHaes on March 9, 1962, in Norfolk, Neb. She was previously married to John Ford. Lorraine lived 37 years in Fort Collins. She previously had lived in Chadron, Grand Island and Norfolk, Neb. She was a clerk of Dawes County Court in Chadron, Neb. Lorraine was active throughout her life in American Baptist Churches in Nebraska and Fort Collins. She was a member of American Baptist Women's Ministries. She enjoyed various crafts projects, ceramics, gardening, reading and visiting family. Survivors include her husband, John DeHaes of Fort Collins; two daughters, Jo Teaford and her husband, Douglas of Ogallala, Neb., Lorrie Ford and her husband, Chris Deibler of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Mary Dannar and her husband, George of Chadron, Neb.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceding Lorraine in death are her parents; three brothers, Holly, Jim and Dean; a sister, Donna Piffner, and granddaughter, Jamie Hoffmann. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at American Baptist Church, 600 S. Shields St. The Rev. William Prather will officiate.
