Holly Anliker Morgan was born September 18,1971 in Spencer, Iowa to Steve Anliker and Carol Liester.
Holly spent much of her childhood in Iowa before moving to Loveland, Colorado. She returned to Iowa to attend high school in Ruthven. She became a cheerleader for both football and basketball while in Ruthven and made many friends who she continued to keep in touch with throughout her years. She also excelled in choir (many of you can probably still hear her singing during your thoughts about her), art, and was in school plays (as she has always been quite a character – mostly in drama and comedy). (smile)
Following high school, Holly traveled back to Colorado, New Mexico, and California, ultimately creating roots in Ft. Collins. She was a well-respected and skilled bartender through much of her adulthood until she began another customer service career with a few companies, before working with OtterBox. As she settled into this career path, she began to focus on her education. She earned a bachelor's degree and was almost finished with her master's degree – with a focus on psychology and counseling. She would have been an amazing counselor, as she had an amazing manner to critically listen, and provide well thought out advice.
Despite her focus on her career and education, her greatest love was her daughter, Kennedy Pearl Morgan. Her love, care and motherly attentiveness to Kennedy was part of everything that she did. Holly loved to go to the Furry 5k's, and other running events in which Kennedy participated. Kennedy continues Holly's creative nature with the art she creates, and the compassion and care she shows to those around her.
After her cancer diagnosis, Holly had the wonderful and amazing support of her fiancé, Paul von Rottenthaler. Paul and Holly had the most amazing connection as a couple. Their shared love of music and life was unmatched.
After a valiant struggle, Holly passed away on January 19, 2024, in Ft. Collins. At that time, we were all left to cherish and focus on our memories of her and embrace those memories to carry us forward and remember her with love and fondness.
