Herbert W. Carlson

Herbert W. Carlson, 84, of Fort Collins, died December 15, 2011 at a local nursing home. Mr. Carlson was born April 14, 1927 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Gustav Waldmer Carlson and Astrid "Soderquist" Peterson. Herbert lived in Fort Collins the last 12 years of his life. His contribution within support groups was significant and will be greatly missed. He owned and operated a "New York Deli" restaurant in Guatemala where he lived for several years. Survivors include his very dear friend and companion, Dee Morris; sons, Mark Cindy Carlson of Seymour, Connecticut, Eric Donna Carlson of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughters, Vanessa John Carlson Kaiser of Palm Coast, Florida, Loretta Carlson Gian Paulo of Gloversville, New York; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceding Herbert in death are his parents; daughters, Christine Carlson and Kimberly Katherine Carlson; and one granddaughter, Rachel Dibble. A Memorial Service will be held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Monday at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
