Henry Egger passed away, alert, at home, and with his family on May 23, 2013 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Born in Oregon, Missouri, the son of Fred and Lydia Egger, he lived 83 years, 58 of them in Colorado. In 1951 he married Dollie Moore in Maryville, Missouri. He attended college at St. Ambrose College, Northwest Missouri State University, and University of Colorado. He proudly served in Korea and was honorably discharged at Fort Carson in 1953. He was determined to live in Colorado, moved his family here, and worked at Rocky Flats for 36 years. Henry and Dollie, moved to Fort Collins in 1994. In retirement he enjoyed mowing on the Southridge Golf Course for 15 years.
We who knew him recognized him as a unique and complex individual. A self-made man, he was smart, independent, honest, unpretentious, and well informed. Henry loved the outdoors and excelled in challenges of any sort.
Henry is survived by Dollie, his wife and love of 62 years, three children and their spouses Erick and Sue Egger , Alan and Ann Egger, Jill and Ted Borst, three grandchildren Ginny Borst, Levi Borst, Bradley Holmes and two sisters Louise and Jim Gleason, Nadine and David Killmer Henry is, and will be, missed. There will be a family memorial at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver Colorado, in July. He was a good man who lived a good life.
