Listen to Obituary
The angels came to take Henrietta home on May l, 2OO9 at Columbine West Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Denver on December 10, 1928. She was raised in the Denver area and moved to Fort Collins in 1989. She enjoyed walking with her friends around City Park and visiting with her neighbors. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and always on Saturday four pm mass and usually arrived early to be sure to get her favorite pew in the back of the church and to sit next to her many friends she made there. She was often a surprise guest at many Saturday afternoon weddings before mass. She was a warm and caring person and always had a warm hello to all she came in contact with. She was also a die hard John Elway /Denver Broncos fan having kept every picture, magazine article, book or what ever she could find on the Broncos and especially John Elway. She is survived by two sisters, Alice Mares and Dolores Armijo Joe of Fort Collins, and one brother Edward Josie Sandoval of Denver. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. The family would like to thank the staff at Columbine Care Center, Pathways Hospice, PVH 4th floor Neuro nurses and Dr's Sorenson, Stanton and Wirt for all the compassionate care they extended to Henrietta during her illness. Also many thanks to all who sent cards, flowers, visited or called her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. A Rosary will be held, 12:30 p.m., Tuesday and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday. Both services will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
