Helen McGuire was born in Fort Collins, Colorado, January 9, 1908. She graduated from Fort Collins High School and lived in this area her entire life. She was raised on a farm located off of Lemay Avenue. Her father, Ezekial Lawson, milked cows and her Mom, Mamie, drove a horse drawn cart so Helen and her brother Luther could deliver milk door to door. Helen married Bill McGuire, December 9, 1927. They had four children Richard, Mary Ellen, Ruth and Betty. Helen's greatest pleasures in life were living in the country, gardening, sewing, her children, and helping Bill with the cattle. She was a member of the local PTA, Waverly Extension Club, Rebecca Lodge, and Timberline Church. She had a long and happy life and the greatest sense of humor that her family will always cherish. Helen passed from this life peacefully into the arms of her Lord on April 12, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill; her son, Richard; and her brother, Luther. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Fenton Leo, Ruth Whalen Terry, Betty Englert Backlund Mike; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Timberline Church, 2908 S. Timberline Road. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
