Helen Kowing

Helen Marie Kowing, 88, of Fort Collins, died Feb. 15, 2008, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Kowing was born June 23, 1919, in Wakeeney, Kan., to Richard Selbe and Ruth Agnes Tupper Kowing. Helen married John Wesley Kowing on Dec. 31, 1950, in Ulysses, Kan. Mrs. Kowing moved to Fort Collins in 1994 from Grants Pass, Ore. She was a licensed practical nurse and will be remembered for her great sense of humor. She was always full of life. Survivors include her son, Michael Clark of Colorado; two daughters, Mari Bowen of Fort Collins and Ruth Ann Clark of Alabama; a sister, Marclyn Willis of Grand Junction; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Preceding Helen in death are her husband, and a daughter, Wanda Kowing. A private family service will be held. The family would like to especially thank the staffs of Springcreek Health Care Center and Hospice of Larimer County for their care.
