Helen Louise Haden, age 90, passed away at Poudre Valley Hospital on May 6, 2007. She was born in Sedgwick on March 27, 1917, to Anna and Fred Johnson. She attended high school in Ovid and after graduation attended Marinello Beauty College in Denver. She married Bon Ira Biggs in 1938 in Denver and had two daughters. After 12 years she was widowed. She then married Donald E. Haden and they made their home in Denver. She adjusted rapidly to the outdoor life of fishing, camping and hunting. They traveled throughout the United States and Mexico before settling in Kino Bay, Sonora, Mexico, where they lived for 10 years, followed by five years in Tucson, Ariz. She loved the desert, collecting shells along the beach and creating works of art from nature. After her husband's death in 1998, she moved to The Worthington in Fort Collins to be near her family. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Charles Blazek of Fort Collins and Janet Phill Grant of Thornton; her sister, Rosemary Bishop of Aurora; her granddaughters, Jill Steven Ronen, Beth Rusty Huelle of Fort Collins, Trina Anamier of Greeley and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Larimer County Hospice in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. May 19 at Bohlender Funeral Chapel.
