Helen Ferry passed from this life on July 1, 2013. She was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on March 1, 1937, the daughter of William H. and Ruth Brumbaugh Ober, who preceded her in death. She graduated from J.L.Replogle High School in 1955, and received a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Elizabethtown College in 1959. She taught school at the Northern Bedford County school district for one year and upon moving to New Jersey in 1960, she taught there for two years. Later, she taught at Children's World Learning Center in Fort Collins. Helen married Jim Ferry on July 26, 1959. He survives as well as three children, Kathy L. Clay Randy of Salt Lake City, David M. Jenn of Sellersville, Pennsylvania, and Karen L. Starck Ric of Galesburg, Michigan; five grandchildren, Jessica Clay of Oklahoma City, Rebecca Clay and Hannah Clay of Salt Lake City, Spencer Ferry and Samantha Ferry of Sellersville. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, growing flowers, and collecting antiques. She also enjoyed travel, and she and her husband visited many parts of the world. She loved children, especially her five grandchildren. She was a member of the Meadowlark Church of Christ where she did volunteer work. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Mountain States Children's Home in Longmont, Colorado in care of the Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 West Olive Street, Fort Collins, CO, 80524. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Bohlender Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2013. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
