Hazel Anne Burnett

Hazel "Anne" Moxley Burnett passed away in her sleep on August 2, 2018. She was born in rural North Carolina on June 17, 1917. Her father, Bud Moxley, and wife Ida Warden Moxley, moved their family of 10 children to Maryland to farm vegetables and dairy cattle. Anne attended school in a one room school house and continued on to both Teachers College and Maryland State University where she attained her Master's in Education. She taught in Maryland, Puerto Rico and Louisiana. She married William Harvey Burnett in Puerto Rico in 1945. They moved from Maryland to Louisiana in 1952 and lived there until 1977 when they retired to west Texas. "Bill" Burnett passed away in 2001 and Anne moved to Fort Collins in 2008 to be closer to her daughter Pam Bjorlo. Anne is survived by Pam and another daughter Emma Taliaferro and 2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
