Harvey Welshans

Harvey L. Welshans, 90, of Benkelman, Neb., died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at the Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman, Neb. A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Harvey was born July 27, 1915, in Fort Collins to Roscoe and Mary Etta Welshans. He graduated from Timnath High School in 1936. He married Winifred Doris Hatten on June 25, 1938, in Fort Collins. He was retired from Markley Motors in Fort Collins. He was a lifetime member of the Fort Collins Elks Lodge. He was past district governor of the Colorado Optimist Club. Survivors include two sons, Chuck Welshans and wife, Jeneane, of Benkelman, Neb., and David Welshans and wife, Deb, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one sister, Lavetta Autry, of LaPorte; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Mary Etta Welshans; and two brothers. A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Pastor Michael Stadtmuller will officiate the service.
