Harold Kennedy, 85, of Fort Collins, died Dec. 21, 2005, at home. Harold was born Aug. 24, 1920, in Egan, S.D. While a child, his family moved to Benson, Minn., where he graduated from high school. He graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., where he met his beloved wife of 60 years, Jeanne. His college was interrupted by military service with the 104th Infantry Division in Europe during World War II. After college, Harold worked briefly for the state of Minnesota before starting his career with the National Labor Relations Board in Minneapolis. After temporary postings in other cities, he was a field examiner and supervisor in the Regional Office in Cincinnati for 25 years. After retiring, he and Jeanne moved to Fort Collins. During his 29 years in Fort Collins, he continued his participation in the community as a member of the Fort Collins Lions Club, Foothills Unitarian Church, NARFE and numerous volunteer organizations. He enjoyed ice skating, skiing, camping, woodworking and traveling. He is survived by his wife; his children, Chuck Kathy, Ray Amy, Diane Jim, and Carol John; and his grandchildren, Jim, Christie, Cindy, Devin, Jack, Crystal, and Scott. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foothills Unitarian Church. Contributions may be made to the Fort Collins Lions Club Foundation or Foothills Unitarian Church in care of Bohlender Funeral Chapel, 121 W. Olive St., Fort Collins, CO 80524.
