Listen to Obituary
Greta Jane Young Jones left this earth to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on February 2nd. She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1934 to Ernest and Helen Young. A graduate of North High School in Omaha, she did one year of college at University of Omaha. In 1953, Greta married Robert W. Jones. While her children were still at home, she went back to college and completed her music degree at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska.

They raised their family on farms near Omaha and then lived several places in Colorado and California. Playing the piano or organ at church or community activities, a family garden, teaching private piano lessons, involvement in her church, leading VBS, all kept her active even in her latter years. She was very committed to Bible Study Fellowship and Precept Ministries. One of her favorite places was teaching 2- and 3-year-olds. While living in Montrose, CO, she volunteered with House of Hope loving on the young children of moms in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, older brother Robert Ronald, son-in-law Dr. Michael McNamara, and her husband of 63 years. She is survived by children: Mark Jones, Omaha, NE, Janice Schlieker, Fort Collins, CO, and Karen McNamara, Atascadero, CA; grandchildren: Jaime (Luke) Hellwege, April McNamara, Bryan McNamara, Kody McNamara, and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Timberline Church in Fort Collins, CO at 11 AM on Thursday February 6. The service will be live streamed at https://youtube.com/live/Ji5mTvfTD-U?feature=share . Visitation and an informal service to be held at Roeder Mortuary on 108th in Omaha NE, Monday February 10 at 5:30-8:00 PM with a brief service at 7:15.
