Gregory Paul Harper, 58, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 4, 2009, in Fort Collins at Poudre Valley Hospital. A celebration of Greg's life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Christ United Methodist Church, 104 S. 4th St. in Sterling Colorado with the Rev. Derek DeToni-Hill officiating. Greg was born in Akron, Colorado on March 10, 1951. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1969 and from Northeastern Junior College in 1987. Greg was the oldest of four children of Paul and Edith Harper. Collins, brother Tim Harper of Colorado Springs, nephews Brandon Skaggs of Oakland, California, Dustin Harper of Colorado Springs, Remik Starkharper of Berkeley, California, and his niece, Gabriele Harper of Atlanta, Georgia. As a young man, Greg was active in Boy Scouts, Demolay and Future Farmers of America. Greg had suffered all his life from a disabling disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis, which prevented him from continuing his love for rodeo competition and farming. Greg ran his computer business until he suffered a stroke in November of 2005. Greg's positive attitude toward life, his sense of humor and mischievous nature will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Please visit bohlenderfuneralchapel.com to send online condolences.
