On Monday, June 23, 2025, our beloved son and brother, Greggory Richard Whitcomb died unexpectedly, and we are heart broken.
Gregg was born May 15, 1993 in Harrisburg, PA and grew up in Dillsburg. Gregg is survived by his loving parents, Rick and Jan Whitcomb, sister Jayna, Gregg's Georgia family, Celie and
Emily Atkinson, his Gram, Carole Sheriff, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dick and Helen Whitcomb and maternal grandfather, Charlie Sheriff.
Gregg graduated from Northern York high school in Dillsburg and Shippensburg University, where he was a member of the men's soccer team. Gregg was a CPA and worked at Brown Plus in Camp Hill, PA in their tax department.
Gregg loved to travel, and went to Africa, South America, Europe and all over the country. He loved concerts, especially at Red Rocks Amphitheater, premier league soccer, and loved his
adopted dogs Elsa and Cooper. Gregg was a natural athlete and loved to golf with his faj and friends. He could talk to anyone and collected friends everywhere he went.
If you knew Gregg, you laughed. He had a dark sense of humor and a quick comeback for anyone. If you were lucky to be loved by Gregg, you knew it. Gregg didn't hesitate to tell you "I love you" and was quick with a hug, and we were lucky to get both frequently.
All are welcome to Gregg's service to be held at Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, 300 E Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA on Saturday, July 19th with visitation starting at 9:30,
service at 11:00. While our grief is overwhelming, this will be a celebration of Gregg and we hope you will share your stories and favorite times with us. We recently learned that at one point Gregg said he would like his ashes scattered on great golf courses around the country and world. While this may not be possible for us, we will have his collection of golf shirts at the church. If you would, please take one or two, and "take Gregg golfing".
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shippensburg Men's Soccer program. Donations in Gregg's memory can be made online at:

Checks can be made payable to the SU Foundation/Men's Soccer Program in memory of Greggory Whitcomb, and mailed to: Shippensburg University Foundation, 500 Newburg Road Shippensburg, PA 17257.
We will love and miss Gregg forever. A favorite quote is "You are not here to take up space on this planet. You are here to do, and to give, and to be positive so that when you leave, you leave something good behind". We thank God for Gregg and all the good he left us.
If you are unable to attend the service, the family invites you to watch the live stream of the service.
